Spring Breaking Up is Hard to do...

...Okay, maybe it isn't hard to do, but it was definitely different than the norm! Spring Break is coming to an end and it seems that everyone has enjoyed themselves. :) The only weird thing about this Spring Break is that we were all spread out across Texas! Matt stayed in Houston and worked, but the first weekend of Spring Break he spent camping and fishing with friends and then he had the house to himself for several days after that, so he definitely had a "break" from the normal daily routine. I went to Dallas and had a fabulous time snuggling sweet Reagan while Tiffany and Seth transitioned (moved!) from one house to another. She is SO snuggly...we took lots of naps together! We also had a lunch date with a Houston friend of mine that I rarely get to see here...she was taking care of her niece in Dallas too over Spring Break! And Carson and Christopher...THANK YOU OMMY AND POPPY!...they went to the river with Ommy and Poppy! Yay! I'm so glad that Ommy and Poppy took lots of pics so we could see what they did...get ready...there are LOTS of good photos!

The first weekend was cold and yucky, but it looks like they got some good pics while hanging out inside!

Minnow catcher and binoculars in hand...

Tree climbing, of course! Ommy had been at the river for a week or so before the kids and Poppy joined her. Because Poppy drove there by himself with the kids, he used incentives (bribery) to reward their good behavior in the car. Every hour they got some sort of "surprise!" Their favorite was binoculars so that they could do some bird watching!

Can you tell what happened to Christopher while he was at the river? He lost his first top tooth! It is precious! My baby is growing up!

Does it matter that it is chilly outside and the river is freezing? NO! It is the FRIO River! And these kiddos are going to be in it! Christopher built a dam across part of the river.

And there was minnow catching...I love river apparel! Everyone always looks so stylish!

Picnicking/Tailgating in the back of Poppy's truck.
They even had visitors...who brought fun toys and treats!
Again with the stylish river apparel!

Athena came along to experience the river too! The kids can't stop talking about her! Great! First Jon and Kate get German Shepards and now this...Aunt Jody they will have to just visit with Athena more often!

Roasting marshmallows and making Smores is always a "required" river activity!

How cute is this? Poppy and Christopher watching the fire. :)
It's hard to tell in this pic...but the kids (Christopher especially) loved flying kites!
It's deer feeding time!
Christopher and Poppy doing some chores...
Christopher with the leaf blower...a couple of the other pics had him holding this gadget facing down and I could only see part of the blower...at first glance I thought that he was holding a chain saw! (Which is a VERY popular toy with Poppy!) I was so grateful when I saw this pic and figured it out! :)

The kids had tons of fun and almost had Ommy and Poppy convinced that they should live at the river and be homeschooled! When Carson came home she was giving me examples of homeschooling "subjects and activities" that they could cover while living at the river!
