EVERY Spring Matt plants tomatoes and every summer the "crop" is different! :) Some years we have lots of tomatoes and other years we barely see any tomatoes! The kids have been fascinated with the "Topsy Turvy" planter since it first came out, so we finally decided to give that a try this summer. Of course, we also planted some tomato plants the traditional way as well. It was kind of like a little experiment...which way produced more tomatoes? We didn't actually record the number of tomatoes produced by each plant, but we can definitively say that the Topsy Turvy will not be used again and came in dead last producing ZERO tomatoes this summer. How sad is that? Thankfully, our other plants came through for us!
