Wii finally did it!

Matt and I were putting off getting a Wii until the kids really wanted one. This past May the kids started talking about how they really wanted a Wii. May was very far from any Birthdays or Christmas, so wii discussed the option of allowing them to put their money together and purchasing the Wii on their own. This was a great idea...they could really feel like they were contributing and wii also thought that this would remind them to really take care of the system and the games once wii got it. Well, over the summer while having the house on the market and then packing, Matt and I decided that they kids would have to wait until wii moved. Wii didn't need another thing to put away every day before people came to see our house. Fast forward to now: the kids hadn't really mentioned the Wii a whole lot lately, just occasionally in passing. They have had plenty of entertainment around here just exploring our new surroundings. Matt saw a great deal online and purchased the Wii as a surprise for the kids. :) It was SO much fun! I had the kids get all of their homework done and then Matt came home for dinner. He told them that he had rented a movie for us to all watch together, so they needed to eat and take their baths fast. This was "special" because wii don't typically have movie nights on school nights. They were both so excited about the movie night and kept wanting us to tell them what wii were going to watch! They quickly ate, bathed and came downstairs ready for snuggling and a movie. Matt went into the laundry room and brought out a box. It had been shipped, so you couldn't tell from the outside what it was. Wii told them that Matt had ordered the movie online, so they needed to open it up. :) It was definitely Christmas in September!! The kids were jumping around and screaming!! It was SO cute! (I have video, but it's fairly long and REALLY loud, so I'm not posting it here.) After the intitial shock wore off, Matt began putting the whole thing together. They played some bowling and tennis that came with the system. Then, Matt asked them if they thought they would like some other kinds of games and if so, what kind? The kids had some ideas. Matt then went back into the laundry room where the rest of his stash was and brought out MarioKart along with 2 steering wheels. Again there was screaming and jumping up and down. I LOVED IT!!
Here they are waiting to watch a movie.
Here they are after regaining control of themselves! :)
