Do chickens on the grill lay eggs?

Last night Matt worked his magic on the grill! This was the second time that he grilled a "chick-can"...this is a chicken placed on an apparatus that holds a can (we used beer) and then the chicken goes over the can. It was SO yummy! Well, this time Matt took an onion and stuffed it down inside the chicken on top of the can. When Matt took the chicken off of the grill and walked inside he asked the kids if they knew that chickens could still hatch eggs...even when they are dead. No...they both responded and then he showed them this:

The kids were HILARIOUS he convinced BOTH of them that the chicken could in fact hatch a cooked egg on the grill! Even Carson bought into it. :) He took the "egg" out and offered it to them. Both of them wanted to eat it because they both like boiled eggs! It wasn't until he started to cut the egg that Carson said, "That looks like an onion!" They could not stop laughing!

After the laughter died down Carson was mad! She kept saying that we had tricked her. :) Then she had a million and one questions like, "Did you plan on tricking us before you cooked the chicken?," "How did Mommy know that you were tricking us?," "If she didn't know before, then how did she know to trick us too?"...I think she was upset that we had knowingly deceived her. We thought it was incredibly humorous! And that onion definitely looked like an egg!!
