Betty Cody Rennell Elementary School

Christopher and I attended the dedication of one of Cy-Fair's new elementary schools...Betty Cody Rennell. Betty and her family are dear friends of our family, so this was an especially fabulous and touching program that honored Betty and all of the years that she has dedicated to kids and education.

Christopher enjoyed touring the FANTASTIC building! Christopher learned how to use a kiosk that is located in one of the hallways of Rennell that students can use. The students can find out all kinds of information about Rennell...how much electricity is being used, the amount of solar energy that is in use, etc. It was VERY interesting!

Many of the rooms that are usually hidden in buildings are on display for the kids so that they can see how different parts of the building work. Many of the parts are labeled so that the kids can identify them.

The science rooms have exposed ceilings so once again the kids can see how the building is constructed. AND the pipes are colored coded and labeled.

Poppy and Christopher are checking out a part of a wall in the science room that is covered by plexi-glass so that the kids can see the insulation and pipes located within the wall.

This is one of several Redhawk sculptures that hang from the ceiling in a main hallway in Rennell. They were a gift from Betty to the school.

The school was beautiful and we are so excited for Betty and her family!
